You Were a Man
In battle, it seems inevitable that soldiers must die. Their Homecoming is not how they intended it to be, but every single one of them comes home a Hero. Sometimes the numbers of Fallen Heroes are so numerous; it's hard to keep in mind how special each soldier was. But to family and friends, the special qualities of the Fallen Hero will always be remembered.

To the World you were only one--
Another soldier under the sun.
To the World, life goes on
Another death, another dawn.
But I don't care what the World understands,
My son, you were a man.
CHORUS:
WHAT WILL I DO…NOW OUR TIME IS THROUGH?
WITH YOUR LOVE I'VE BEEN CLINGING TO?
I’LL KEEP ALIVE YOUR MEMORY,
YOUR SPIRIT WILL FOREVER BE
TAKING A STAND! YOU WERE A MAN!
LETTER: Mom, Dad, I guess you know what this letter means. But I want you to know that my life was full of love and I never went without. I have no regrets. I have been so blessed. Thank you for all you have done. And remember, I died doing something that I truly loved for a purpose greater than myself.
To this cause, you gave up your life! …….May God always bless you
The Ultimate Sacrifice! ……………….… your loving son.
CHORUS (repeat) (Ohhh)
To your friends, you'd stand by their side,
A Code of Honor you'd always abide.
To the needy you gave your hand,
Helping others was a part of your plan.
To your family, you gave so much love:
My son, why are you in Heaven above?
CHORUS:
THIS IS WHAT I'LL DO… I'll honor you
OUR TIME IS THROUGH, And keep your memory true.
YES, YOUR LOVE I'LL BE CLINGING TO This I promise
I'LL KEEP ALIVE YOUR MEMORY!
YOUR SPIRIT WILL FOREVER BE,
TAKING A STAND! YOU WERE A MAN!
TAKING A STAND! SERVING THIS LAND! YOU WERE A MAN!
